Hi Maya! Tell us a bit about yourself …

My name is Maya Peace and I absolutely love fabulous jewelry. Things that catch my eye large chucky one of a kind pieces that draw attention and make an outfit pop.

When did you first start making jewelry?

I started making jewelry in 2008 for my personal usage by mixing and matching the existing pieces of jewelry I owed to create a new bulky piece.


What is your favorite piece of jewelry?

Currently my favorite is the “Blue Angel” (pictured on the left). It is chunky and multi-strand necklace with a picture of a angel as a pendant.

What is your favorite material/technique to work with?

I love working with shell beads and multi-strand necklaces are a must they create an allusion of bulkiness if you choose to use medium size beads.

What do you like/dislike about selling jewelry online?

The great thing about selling jewelry online is you reach a considerable amount of people outside of your nearby area however the downfall is that you must be patient because it takes time to develop a consistent clientele. Also you must develop a effective plan to efficiently promote your business through social media sites.

Any tips for new artisans just starting out to sell online?

Don’t be afraid to recreate an already existing design by adding your own flair just like fashion jewelry is re-inventive.
